Oncology Roundtable set for Sept. 5

WHAT:            Leaders of UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston will be on hand Wednesday, Sept. 5, for an oncology roundtable.

Moderated by James Holmes from the San Antonio Business Journal, discussion at the oncology roundtable will feature a panel of leaders from both institutions. The topics include infrastructure improvements to the UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center; how MD Anderson’s patient-centered model of care will improve care for patients in South Texas; the long history of cancer drug development at the cancer center and what is coming in the future; the benefits of  having a chief nursing officer at the cancer center and how this will improve nursing education and care for patients; services available to help patients and cancer survivors; and the value-based model of bringing together two National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers.
