An enthusiastic audience of faculty, staff and students tuned out in force Sept. 20 for a special opera presentation in Holly Auditorium featuring performers from the Alamo City Opera.
Health Science Center President William L. Henrich, M.D., MACP, served as host and introduced selections from five of the most beloved and famous operas, including La Boheme, Carmen and Rigoletto.
Performers were soprano Kara Smoot, mezzo soprano Laura Mercado-Wright, tenor Timothy Birt, baritone Ronald Ulen and pianist Kristin Roach.
Carol Karotkin, president of the board of directors of the Alamo City Opera, and Mark A. Richter, general and artistic director, also attended the performance.
