Plastic surgery residents, under the fearless leadership of  Howard T. Wang, M.D., earned first place in the Resident Bowl on the largest stage for plastic surgery — the 2018 American Society of Plastic Surgeons meeting in Chicago Sept. 28-30.

The Resident Bowl, with questions on plastic surgery, had 32 teams of residents in the first round. UT Health San Antonio residents missed only two questions in the entire tournament and defeated UC Irvine, UCLA, Kentucky, Mayo Clinic Rochester, and then Harvard in overtime.

“Our residents were focused, determined and believed in themselves,” said Dr. Wang.
