Remarks by Dr. Henrich at the March 22 awards dinner:
“Dr. Patti Grota brings to academia more than 30 years of patient care experience as a clinical nurse specialist and infection prevention professional. Since completing her Ph.D. in 2010 and in her short time as an investigator, she has made highly recognized contributions to theory, practice and research. She has published six papers, 12 abstracts and has made six state, national and international presentations. In 2011, she was given the Outstanding Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Award by The University of Texas System Annual Clinical Safety and Effectiveness Conference for her work in infection control and prevention. This work resulted in presentations at two national conferences and recognition by the Joint Commission for her leadership by the invitation to conduct an international Webinar. She serves as Chief Clinical Editor of the APIC TEXT, a major reference for more than 40,000 professionals worldwide and she has more than 100 citations to her works in other publications.”

She has truly maximized resources by her sheer commitment and competence, and has become a national and international leader on infection control research.
