Remarks by Dr. Henrich at the March 22 awards dinner:

“More than 800 Health Science Center School of Medicine residents and fellows are positively influenced by the work and dedication of Wendy Malone. Since 2003, Wendy has served in the Graduate Medical Education Office, and during that time she has progressed in responsibilities from Data System Coordinator to Intermediate Quality Assurance Analyst. In GME, it’s often noted that details absolutely matter— they can truly make the difference in whether a program maintains its accreditation, and fortunately for us, Wendy is very detail-oriented. She has streamlined processes for incoming trainees and has been instrumental in increasing the functionality of our GME management software, improving the accuracy of data and reporting. This has resulted in better oversight and cost savings for the GME Office and the institution. Wendy is vigilant and committed, demonstrating a tremendous work ethic and high level of loyalty on a daily basis.”

From the nominating letter by John Toohey, M.D., professor and assistant dean for Graduate Medical Education, School of Medicine:

“Wendy alone has the uncanny ability to find out mission-critical information. On numerous occasions, she has far exceeded the normal job expectations of providing information and research to accommodate our needs to ensure that residency programs maintain their compliance within the requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. She genuinely enjoys her job and is an incredible asset to this institution.”
