Psychiatry resident honored by National Hispanic Medical Association

Evita Limon-Rocha, M.D.

Evita Limon-Rocha, M.D., M.P.H., a psychiatry resident at UT Health San Antonio, received the 2019 Resident of the Year Award from the National Hispanic Medical Association during the organization’s Hispanic Health Conference in Arlington, Virginia, April 13.

Dr. Limon-Rocha was selected from a competitive pool of candidates from across the country. The award goes to individuals who have made a significant contribution to Hispanic health through their continued work as residents/fellows.

The National Hispanic Medical Association, established in 1994, is a nonprofit association representing 50,000 licensed Hispanic physicians in the U.S. The association’s mission is to empower Hispanic physicians and other health care professionals to improve the health of Hispanic populations with Hispanic medical societies, resident and medical student organizations, and its public and private sector partners.
