The Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, will present the 2023 South Texas Alzheimer’s Conference Public Event for community members to learn about new therapies and exciting research progress in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. The Biggs Institute is part of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
The free public event, set for 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at UT Health San Antonio’s Holly Auditorium, will include information about the latest groundbreaking research around the world. The audience will hear directly from the experts leading the discoveries. Bonnie Petrie of Texas Public Radio will moderate an expert panel discussion on “Challenges and New Ways to Prevent, Diagnose and Treat Dementia.”
After the discussion, attendees are invited to meet UT Health San Antonio researchers and health care team experts. “In collaboration with UT Rio Grande Valley, the Biggs Institute is Texas’ only National Institute on Aging-designated Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, or ADRC,” said Sudha Seshadri, MD, professor of neurology at UT Health San Antonio and Biggs Institute founding director. “This ‘meet the experts time’ is an invaluable opportunity for our community to learn about innovative research at the Biggs Institute and be connected to innovative clinical trials and resources.”
