Facilities Management has begun a two-year multi-phase renovation of the Dental School 5th floor “R” section for the Department of Medicine.
Phase 1 of the project kicked off with an official “groundbreaking” ceremony March 24. W. Brian Reeves, M.D., chair of the Department of Medicine, and Shan Zhao, senior director of finance and administration for the department, took part in the ceremony.
Phase 1 of the project consists of renovating eight major labs and combining them into one large open area lab. During the renovation, the corridors surrounding the construction site will have barriers installed to assist with dust and noise control.
Phase 1 is expected to be completed in early fall 2017.
