The majority of children with COVID-19 in 26 countries fared well clinically compared to adults during the first four months of the pandemic, according to a newly released study in the EClinicalMedicine, a journal of The Lancet.
“The main takeaway is that children diagnosed with the virus, in general, have an excellent prognosis,” said Dr. Alvaro Moreira, Pediatrics-Neonatology, who was the lead author of the review. “It’s rare to see a pediatric patient having to be admitted to an intensive care unit or even the hospital.”
