This article is about the expansion of Casa Mia, a home for pregnant and parenting mothers with opioid use disorder. The program is a project led by Lisa Cleveland, PhD, RN, APRN, FAAN, from our School of Nursing, and Crosspoint Inc., which provides transitional homes. Casa Mia is one of only three homes in the U.S. that allow mothers to recover with their babies, who often are born recovering from having been exposed to opioids in the womb.
