School of Health Professions names associate dean for research

Timothy A. Reistetter, Ph.D., OTR

Timothy A. Reistetter, Ph.D., OTR, FAOTA, has been named the associate dean for research in the School of Health Professions, announced the dean of the school, David C. Shelledy, Ph.D.

Dr. Reistetter’s primary responsibilities will include developing, promoting, advancing and leading research programs with the school, in addition to collaboration with external organizations.

Dr. Reistette comes to UT Health San Antonio from the UT Medical Branch in Galveston where he was a professor of occupational therapy and worked in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences as the director of the Post-Doctoral Certificate Program.

He holds a doctorate in occupational therapy from Texas Woman’s University and is a registered occupational therapist (OTR). He holds state and national board certification in his discipline and is recognized as a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). He is one of the five 2019 inductees to the AOTA Foundation Academy of Research in Occupational Therapy.

Dr. Reistetter  is a nationally recognized researcher who currently has seven active research projects and over 50 publications to include peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, in addition to numerous presentations at state, national and international meetings and conferences.
