Spreading the joy of the season

The UT Health San Antonio family donated more than 3,500 gifts for children hospitalized or being treated during the holiday season.

The university’s annual Gifts for Children project began 30 years ago with the idea of bringing a bit of cheer during the holiday season to children in the hospitals and clinics where our residents and students train.

The gifts will be distributed at several institutions, including University Hospital, Mays Cancer Center, UT Health Pediatrics, Haven for Hope and others.

Sofia Reyna, office manager of the Primary Care Center, has been the longtime coordinator of the Gifts for Children project.
