T.R. Reid, author of “The Healing of America,” speaks at UT Health Science Center

T.R. Reid, author of “The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper, and Fairer Health Care,” speaks at the UT Health Science Center. The presentation is free and open to the public.

In his bestselling book, Reid examines health care systems in other wealthy, free-market, industrialized democracies to gain insight into our own system.

Reid, who has a bad shoulder from an accident decades ago in the Navy, visited doctors in those other countries to see how they would handle his condition. This personal experiment met with vastly different results.
