Leadership appointment marks significant progress in historic merger effort
Chancellor James B. Milliken announced the appointment of Taylor Eighmy, PhD, as acting president of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio), effective Feb. 1.
Eighmy will concurrently continue to serve as president of The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
The UT System Board of Regents previously announced that Eighmy will become the first president of the integrated new university (UTSA and UT Health San Antonio) pending a successful review by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) in the summer. The merger is set to be finalized by Sept. 1, with full operational integration expected to take up to three years.
