The Health Cell State of the Industry presentations: Submit your story

The Health Cell, San Antonio’s premier networking and leadership development organization for professionals in health care and bioscience, is calling for presenters for its keystone annual event, The State of the Industry dinner.

The State of the Industry event, to be held Jan. 30 at the Grand Hyatt, will feature five presenters whose stories will be selected based on their ability to convey interesting details of their personal/professional contributions to what San Antonio’s health care and bioscience industry achieved in 2018. Nominated presenters will be selected based on the compelling nature of their stories that should reflect events occurring in 2018, initiatives that began this year, or projects that achieved a significant milestone during 2018.

Submissions are encouraged from all facets of health care: medicine, research, health care delivery, military medicine, biotech, medical devices, academia, industry, public sector, nonprofit and others.

The format is a scripted live presentation at the Jan. 30 State of the Industry dinner, with a small number of photographs and other visuals used to support each story. Each selected story teller will be allotted approximately eight minutes to address the audience.

The event is a fast-paced (think TED Talks) celebration of the industry; it’s not an awards ceremony. The presenters must deliver their remarks in person at the Jan. 30 event.  Click here to see the winning story presentations of the State of the Industry dinner of 2018.  UT Health San Antonio presenters included Jannine D. Cody, Ph.D., pediatrics, and Donald Jenkins, M.D., FACS, surgery.

The deadline to submit a story for consideration, via a form to be completed online, is midnight, Nov. 5.

In order to track participation by UT Health San Antonio faculty and staff, you are asked to please notify Nancy Arispe Shaw  of your intention to submit the online entry form to be considered for selection as a 2019 dinner presenter.
