Juan Pablo Palavicini, PhD, an assistant professor in the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology; Jinjiao Wang, PhD, RN, the William and Berneice Castella Distinguished Professor in Aging Studies; and Yi Zhu, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology, received UT System Science and Technology Acquisition and Retention (STARs) awards for their work in aging research.
Each award is $150,000 and will be used to fuel research into aging, disease and care.
The University of Texas System Board of Regents approved the allocation of funds for multiple types of STARs awards more than 20 years ago to help attract and retain the best-qualified faculty to perform their research at one of the 13 UT System academic and health institutions across the state of Texas.
