Time off to vote on Election Day

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. All UT Health San Antonio faculty and staff are eligible to take time off to vote on an election day for national, state and local elections when it isn’t possible to vote before or after normal working hours.

To take time off to vote, employees must first request approval by their supervisor. The time off will not cause a reduction in vacation allowance or salary if prior approval is received.

Hundreds of polling sites in Bexar County will be open on Nov. 3 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

For more information on the locations and to view a sample ballot, see the Bexar County Elections Department site. Check if you’re registered to vote here.

For more information on the university’s voting time-off policy, please see the Handbook of Operating Procedures, policy 4.7.19.
