SAN ANTONIO – UT Health San Antonio’s newest state-of-the-art primary and specialty care location is now open and accepting patient appointments. Known as UT Health De Zavala, the 9,000-square foot practice is located at 4306 De Zavala Road, near the Lockhill Selma Road intersection in northwest San Antonio.

The location marks the latest expansion of UT Health Physicians, the clinical practice of UT Health San Antonio’s Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine. Services include primary care, pediatric care, sports medicine for all ages, cardiology for adults, dermatology, gastroenterology and nephrology – with on-site X-ray and lab work, plus the convenience of both in-person and video appointments.

With the population expected to grow exponentially in the coming years, so will the area’s health care needs. UT Health De Zavala will offer community members convenient access to compassionate and expert care, plus fill current community gaps in specialty needs.

Patients will find personalized care designed around their unique health history and personal lifestyle. The specialists at UT Health De Zavala will work with the patient’s primary care provider to deliver consistent, collaborative health care, plus have direct access to UT Health San Antonio’s team of over 800 providers in more than 140 medical and surgical specialties. UT Health De Zavala includes 12 exam rooms, one procedure room and an intake room for collecting patient information and obtaining vitals. A spacious waiting area, easy check-in process and plenty of free parking also add to a comfortable, convenient experience for every patient.

“We are so excited to open and start accepting patient appointments so that we can continue our mission of providing high-quality health care for our community,” said Cynthia Cantu, DO, medical director and primary care physician at UT Health De Zavala. “We are doing everything it takes to offer a team of proactive health care providers dedicated to educating our community and predicting, preventing and treating disease.”

The public is invited to a virtual look at UT Health De Zavala from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18. The online tour will take guests inside the new, modern facility, and provide an opportunity to learn more about the health care team.
