SAN ANTONIO,  April 4, 2023 – UT Health San Antonio has earned a “Best Company Outlook” ranking by Comparably, a website that compiles job listings and company culture information, and publishes an annual listing of companies with the brightest futures based on employee surveys.

The institution made the list of 100 large companies with the best outlook, from responses of tens of thousands of workers who anonymously ranked their employers over a 12-month period, through February 2023.

The rankings are derived from “sentiment ratings” provided by current employees about how confident they feel about the future success of their company, how excited they are about going to work each day and how likely they are to recommend working there to a friend, among other measures.

Other notable employers on the list include Microsoft, Google, Workday, Adobe, IBM, AT&T and Samsung Semiconductor. UT Health San Antonio is the only San Antonio-based employer on the list.

“We are proud to receive this award and that this recognition comes from our own employees,” said Amy Tawney, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CPC, vice president and chief human resources officer of UT Health San Antonio. “It is also fitting for our university because our outlook is more positive than ever as we are poised for exciting growth in our missions of academics, patient care, research and community.”

UT Health San Antonio ranked 82nd on the list of companies with 500 or more workers, based on a total of more than 7,000 ratings from 245 participants, with its overall culture score of “A+” indicating that employees “are very satisfied with their work experience,” according to Comparably.

The score incorporates employee ratings based on feedback on perks and benefits, outlook, diversity and more. Last year, UT Health San Antonio was recognized by Comparably as a “Best Company for Diversity.”

The institution earned specific employee ratings of “A+,” reflecting the top 5% of similarly sized employers, in areas of team, outlook, office culture, work culture, executive team, CEO rating, manager, leadership, happiness, retention and environment. Perks and benefits, diversity and “employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS),” a measure of how likely employees are to recommend working there, scored an “A,” or in the top 10% of similarly sized employers.
