UT Health San Antonio is investing in a number of marketing and communication initiatives to increase brand awareness for our university and our missions of education, research and patient care. Part of this work includes a multi-media advertising campaign that enables us to bring to life the work we do and the immense value we bring to our community. This campaign is designed to build awareness of the expansive services we provide as the region’s largest academic health center.
Based on market research, our community has a very positive opinion of our organization, but many are unclear as to exactly what we do. Most know of some of our services, particularly of our medical education, but not as many are aware of the significant benefit we bring including training health care providers in five schools, having more than $200 million invested in health care research and having almost two million visits to our clinical practices in medicine, dentistry, nursing and health professions.
To help increase awareness and preference for our organization, UT Health San Antonio has launched a highly visible ad campaign, brought to the public through television commercials, radio including popular FM stations, NPR and Pandora, print ads in magazines and newspapers, and digital and social campaigns.
This campaign was created to show that the work of UT Health San Antonio and our valued employees improves the entire spectrum of health care—from teaching tomorrow’s health providers, to creating new drugs in the lab, to increasing community access to compassionate patient care services. Additionally, it reminds our faculty and staff that they are how our institution enacts its greater purpose, while it informs our patients to know that they are the reason for that purpose. After all, our patients and those we serve are why we teach tomorrow’s care providers to not simply treat, but heal; why we investigate the root causes of diseases, to help people avoid getting sick in the first place; and why we work to get new treatments to patients faster, while making high-quality care more accessible and convenient.
This new campaign is called We’re how. You’re why. And it’s out there, in the market, across San Antonio.
