UT Health San Antonio opens spine center

The Spine Center at UT Health San Antonio is now open.

The comprehensive, multidisciplinary center offers complete spine care for adults and children from a team of neurosurgeons, orthopaedic surgeons and specialists in non-operative care for all spine issues.

It is located on the fourth floor of the Medical Arts and Research Center and houses the region’s only EOSedge, an imaging system providing a full body scan in 20 seconds, with much less radiation exposure than traditional X-rays and CT scans.

“Our physicians can handle anything from a recent injury on the pickleball court to the treatment of complex disorders with minimally invasive techniques,” said Christopher Chaput, MD, director of The Spine Center and chief of orthopaedic spine surgery at UT Health San Antonio. “Because we have specialists that treat the full range of spinal issues — from kids to grandmas — treatment plans will be as unique as the individual we are caring for. We want to help people enjoy better lives without invasive surgery if we can, but we also have the right surgeon when conservative care is not working.”
