UT Health San Antonio ranks top 10 nationally as fastest-rising institution for research output

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio) has been rated number six of the top rising 25 institutions in North America, according to Nature Index, a database of author affiliations and institutional relationships. Nature Index tracks contributions to research articles published in high-quality natural-science and health-science journals.

Among the list of the fastest-rising institutions, the top 10 are in the United States. UT Health San Antonio outpaced in biological sciences research output with a 52.6% increase in adjusted research share from 2017 to 2022. Research output was defined as the number of published research articles produced by an institution in a given year.
