UT Health San Antonio shifting vaccinations to its clinics across Bexar County

UT Health San Antonio is transitioning COVID-19 vaccinations to its Medical Arts and Research Center, 8300 Floyd Curl Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78229. Patients of UT Health San Antonio’s primary care clinics can also request a vaccine during office appointments. Additionally, vaccines are being administered across the city through a mobile unit.

Both walk-in and scheduled vaccinations for the first dose are available. Scheduling is not required but is encouraged. For more information and to schedule a vaccination appointment, go to www.uthealthcare.org/covid.

All people aged 16 and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Anyone who received a first dose of Pfizer at UT Health San Antonio’s School of Nursing Hurd Auditorium should obtain the second dose at Hurd Auditorium through May 28.

On May 10, the Food and Drug Administration authorized the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for emergency use in adolescents 12 and older. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is meeting soon to discuss a recommendation for the use of this vaccine in youths. UT Health San Antonio will follow the ACIP’s recommendations as soon as they are received. More information can be found at www.CDC.gov.
