UT Medicine physician to discuss sinusitis at free session July 15

SAN ANTONIO (July 14, 2014) — Are runny nose and watery eyes keeping you from counting the daisies? Do you suffer with poor sense of smell or facial pressure? Philip Chen, M.D., of UT Medicine San Antonio will discuss sinus problems and the most up-to-date solutions at a free informational session at the UT Health Science Center.

UT Medicine San Antonio, clinical practice of the School of Medicine at the Health Science Center, presents the free session at noon Tuesday, July 15, at the Health Science Center’s Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Campus, 7703 Floyd Curl Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78229. Members of the public may bring their lunch and ask questions after the presentation, which is in room 309L of the School of Medicine building.

Dr. Chen will discuss chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, watery eyes and other problems, and treatments such as medications, balloon sinus dilation and minimally invasive sinus surgery.

Dr. Chen is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He is a fellowship-trained rhinologist, a physician who specializes in problems affecting the nose and sinuses.

Dr. Chen, assistant professor of otolaryngology – head and neck surgery in the School of Medicine, treats many ear, nose and throat conditions but is particularly interested in diseases affecting the sinuses. He has lectured internationally and authored multiple scientific publications and book chapters.
