Nursing is Caring BookVideo shot in the School of Nursing on May 4 will help promote the new book “Nursing is Caring: A Tribute to the Profession.” The book, published by iUniverse, is a collection of essays written by School of Nursing students between 2005 and 2014. The project is the brainchild of Beverly Wheeler, M.S.N., RN, ACNS-BC, clinical assistant professor of health restoration and care systems management in the School of Nursing. All royalties from the book’s sales will be donated to a School of Nursing scholarship fund.

Allison Moreno, B.S.N., RN, a 2010 alumna of the School of Nursing, contributed an essay about a patient concerned over taking care of a wound at home. Moreno described the need and satisfaction she felt in helping the patient’s family find resources to provide that home-based wound care. Moreno, now a labor and delivery nurse, said nurses play a vital role in helping families to find solutions.
