Volunteer with a community partner through the ENGAGED platform

Volunteering through UT Health San Antonio’s community partners is now easier than ever. By using the institution’s community engagement platform, UT Health San Antonio ENGAGED, students, faculty, staff and community partners can easily track volunteer hours.

All 10,000-plus members of the UT Health San Antonio community are already enabled to access the portal and serve with any of the institution’s currently registered community partners.

With many community partners to choose from, potential volunteers can scroll through the institution’s list of organizations to find a partner that speaks to them. For those interested in personal health for example, Work Out Help Out (WOHO) — a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting volunteering and personal health — may be of interest. WOHO makes volunteering fun with weekend events that offer exercise, community service and healthy eating.

The ENGAGED platform automatically records volunteer hours free of charge to help the university better achieve its mission of community engagement.

How to volunteer through our community partners:

  1. Visit the ENGAGED website.
  2. On the home page, click the tab labeled “Community Partners” to find organizations associated with UT Health San Antonio.
  3. Click on any of the organizations in the list of “Community Partners” to view upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.
  4. To record accumulated volunteer hours, go to the profile icon on the top right and click to show the drop-down menu. Select “Add Impact” and fill in the details regarding your volunteer experience.

Remember to wear a UT Health San Antonio T-shirt to show pride in the institution when volunteering.
