Volunteers needed for Science Expo

Science Expo 2014

The time to solidify plans for the annual UT Health San Antonio’s Science Expo has arrived. Around 1,500 high school and college students from San Antonio and South Texas are expected to arrive on our campus for the event scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 11.

The event features interactive, hands-on activities and presentations to give students a unique insight into what it would be like to enter the health professions and/or pursue research careers.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to volunteer and share their expertise with the future health care professionals and researchers of tomorrow. Representatives from the School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, School of Health Professions, School of Nursing and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences are needed to lead discussions, demonstrations, dissections and labs.

Expo cannot be a success without a large number of volunteers. Please contact Irene Chapa, Ph.D., at 210-567-3941 or chapai@uthscsa.edu to inquire about volunteering opportunities.
