Voting for the 2026 YourSA San Antonio Express-News Readers’ Choice Awards begins Monday, Feb. 9. Voters can submit their votes once a day, every day through 11:59 p.m. CST Sunday, Feb. 22, to help UT Health San Antonio practices retain their top spots as the best in San Antonio.
Each year, the YourSA San Antonio Express-News Readers’ Choice Awards recognizes three award winners from more than 170 categories in a special featured section of the newspaper. This year, UT Health San Antonio has been nominated for awards in the following categories:
- UT Health San Antonio for best Medical Practice. This includes UT Health Physicians and Mays Cancer Center.
- UT Dentistry for best Dental Practice.
- UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital for best Hospital.
- UT Health San Antonio for best Primary Care Practice.
- UT Health San Antonio for best Asthma & Allergy.
- UT Health San Antonio for best Cosmetic or Plastic Surgery.
- UT Health San Antonio for best Ophthalmologist.
- UT Health San Antonio for best Orthopaedic Practice.
- UT Health San Antonio for best Pediatrician Practice.

Last year, UT Health San Antonio took the No. 1 spot in the medical group category, and UT Dentistry placed No. 1 in the dental category, while UT Health San Antonio Orthopaedics placed first in the orthopaedics practice category. More than 170,000 voters chose last year’s winners in over 100 categories, with the institution’s pediatric and primary care practices earning second place.
UT Health Physicians is the medical practice of UT Health San Antonio’s Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine. With more than 800 providers in more than 100 specialties and subspecialties, UT Health Physicians is the largest physician group in San Antonio. The group of physicians conducts over 300,000 patient visits a year at its 20 locations across the city.
UT Dentistry, the region’s largest and most comprehensive dental center, is part of the School of Dentistry.
