Weather-related update and partial closure notice for Jan. 26

Inclement weather conditions are expected to worsen through Monday, Jan. 26. As a result, the following UT Health San Antonio operations will be impacted on Monday, Jan. 26.

Academic, Research and Administrative Functions

  • Classes are cancelled and all non-essential operations for the Health Science Center are closed.
  • Essential research lab operations will continue as scheduled.

 Clinical Operations

  • Patient care services are unaffected at this time, and normal operations are expected to continue as scheduled.
  • Patient care services will continue to be monitored, with additional updates for outpatient services expected tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 25.
  • The Multispecialty and Research Hospital will continue normal operations.

 Campus Resources and Emergency Support

  • The Dolph Briscoe Jr. Library will remain open 24/7 and is available as a safe space for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Gold’s Gym, located on the Long Campus, will remain open and may also serve as an emergency support location.

Notifications will continue to be sent via email and HSC Alert and will be posted on the homepage at https://uthscsa.edu/.

The safety and well-being of our students, patients, employees, and visitors remain our highest priority. We encourage everyone to review the Inclement Weather Policy (8.3.1) outlined in the Institutional Handbook of Operating Policies (IHOP) to stay informed about institutional guidelines.

For those reporting to campus for essential operations, please allow extra travel time and exercise caution, particularly on wet roadways. Please follow department and unit-level procedures to ensure essential staffing needs are met while prioritizing campus safety.

Facilities Management and the UT Health San Antonio Police Department are actively monitoring campus conditions. If you observe any concerns, such as water leaks or other maintenance issues, please contact Facilities Management at (210) 567-2946.
