When the 1,190 spring and summer graduates of The University of Texas at San Antonio’s six health professional schools walk across commencement stages this weekend, they will begin the next chapter of careers and advanced training dedicated to improving health and well-being. The achievement is the culmination of countless hours spent in laboratories and study rooms, lecture halls and clinical spaces.

A childhood illness that left her bedridden and relearning to walk became the moment Brooke Heche discovered nursing. This May, she will graduate in the School of Nursing’s Class of 2026.

The School of Nursing has been named “Best for Hybrid Learning” for psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner programs in Texas by Allnurses, and ranked second overall in the state.
