New program to distribute Narcan to released inmates

The UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing is initiating a novel program with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office to distribute the lifesaving medication Narcan to those leaving the jail. Narcan is a naloxone spray used to reverse opioid overdose.


Three faculty members selected as AAN fellows

Three faculty members from the School of Nursing at UT Health San Antonio will become fellows of the American Academy of Nursing in October. Fellowship is one of the highest honors nurses can receive.


Photo exhibit to focus on Zika epidemic
