Health Science Center establishes department of epidemiology and biostatistics

Reflecting the importance of measurable analysis in every area of scientific discovery, the Health Science Center has created a department of epidemiology and biostatistics in its School of Medicine, and has appointed Brad H. Pollock, Ph.D., M.P.H., professor and chair.

William Henrich, M.D., M.A.C.P., dean of the Health Science Center’s School of Medicine and vice president for medical affairs, and Karen Fields, M.D., president and CEO at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC), are pleased to announce that the Health Science Center and the CTRC have jointly recruited one of the nation’s outstanding oncologists, Tyler Curiel, M.D., to lead the San Antonio Cancer Institute (SACI).
