COPD genetic research study needs 1,000 volunteers

CTRC receives grant to further develop novel therapies for leukemia

The Cancer Therapy & Research Center (CTRC) at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio announced today that Jennifer Carew, Ph.D., and Francis Giles, M.D., have been awarded a $150,000 grant from LeukemiaTexas for research to develop novel therapies for the treatment of leukemia.


President Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D., receives honorary doctoral degree

Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D., president of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, was honored Sept. 10 by the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon with an honorary doctoral degree for his distinguished contributions to medicine, especially in the area of organ transplantation.
