Scientists learn how poxviruses defeat the body’s host defense

Virologists in the School of Medicine at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio discovered how poxviruses overcome their hosts’ immune defenses. The factor the viruses overcome is also involved in some cancers, so the finding has implications for cancer therapy, as well.



Cancer scientists named AAAS Fellows
