Magazine names Medrano to 100 Most Influential Hispanics® list

Medrano, M.D., M.P.H., of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, a leader in the academic movement to increase retention and matriculation of Hispanics through medical school, is one of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics® in the country as listed in the October issue of Hispanic Business magazine.





Dr. Amelie Ramirez wins prestigious Komen cancer award

Dr. Amelie Ramirez, professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and director of outreach and health care disparities at the Cancer Therapy & Research Center, has been named a “2007 Professor of Survivorship” for her outstanding contributions to breast cancer survivorship by Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a worldwide network of breast cancer survivors and activists.
