Bexar County Commissioners Court gave preliminary approval June 7 to award $10 million to UT Health San Antonio and UTSA for development of The University of Texas School of Public Health San Antonio.

This year 99% of UT Health San Antonio Long School of Medicine’s fourth-year medical students matched to residency programs, exceeding the national average; 57% will stay in Texas, of which 22% will remain in San Antonio.
Importantly for Texas, 57% of the students will remain in the state and 43% will enter primary care specialties.
