Nearly 3,000 Health Science Center faculty, staff, residents and students celebrated the red, white and blue at an old-fashioned Fourth of July picnic held July 1 in the courtyard adjacent to Holly Auditorium.
Attendees enjoyed a barbecue lunch catered by Bill Miller Bar-B-Q, ice cream, music, the always popular cake walk and promotional giveaways from various organizations.
The crowd was treated to a rousing rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner by Jennifer Felan of UT Dentistry.
The event was sponsored by the Office of the President and the Special Events Council.
