Dear faculty, staff, residents, students and friends,
On this day in 1776, our Founding Fathers signed a document that articulated a bold and hopeful vision for liberty, freedom and equality for our country. Their vision continues to be our country’s compass, our collective “true north.” It is fitting and proper for us to pause today, to gratefully remember them for their wisdom and courage, and to thankfully acknowledge the sacrifices which so many made to ensure our democracy’s enduring strength.
Today, and every day, we reaffirm the American ideals, that all are created equal, with God-given rights and inherent dignity. Today, and every day, let freedom ring.
Happy birthday, America!
