Longest-lived naked mole rat in captivity dies after 30 years

After living a world-record three decades in captivity, a naked mole rat — affectionately known as Old Man — has died at the Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies, part of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.




Some tumors on the adrenal gland more hereditary than previously thought

In a study published today in the Journal of the American Medical Association comparing two types of neural tumors that develop in or on the adrenal gland, researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio determined that one of them is associated with several mutations of a specific gene.
