Biochemists solve 3-D structure of cellular ‘fuel gauge’

Biochemists at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio have deciphered the three-dimensional, atomic-level structure of an enzyme that acts as a ‘fuel gauge’ sensing when cells are low in energy and signaling it is time to refuel.






Dr. Minerva Garcia to hold UT Health Science Center’s first distinguished university chair in Laredo

Minerva Garcia, D.D.S., a Zapata native, will be named the holder of the first distinguished university chair of the Laredo Campus Extension of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. UT Health Science Center President Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D., will make the announcement during a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. today at the Laredo Campus Extension, 1937 Bustamante Street.
