Recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released updated guidelines stating that fully vaccinated people can now resume activities without wearing masks or physically distancing, except where required. Whereas UT Health San Antonio will follow these CDC guidelines, aligning with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s executive order, a masking mandate for clinical areas will remain, based on the recommendation of Texas Department of State Health Services Commissioner, John Hellerstedt, MD.

In efforts to continuously improve operations, adapt to ever-changing market conditions and effectively manage growth, we are reconfiguring Facilities Management, which includes a modification of its organizational structure. These changes align with our significant growth strategy and serve to leverage our strengths and operational interdependencies strategically.

UT Health San Antonio has been made aware of a data breach involving Herff Jones, the graduation cap and gown vendor used by universities across the country. We understand that this breach may have left bank information compromised, including customer data such as first/last name, address and credit card information. 

UT Health San Antonio now offers the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to those 12 years and older, following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommendation to extend the emergency use authorization for COVID-19 vaccines to this age group.
